School Evacuation Drills have started
Pasted below is the revised schedule for our whole school evacuation drills (Mason and Parcells dates are updated. GPPSS conducts these annually, similar to the more well-known tornado and fire drills. All students evacuate to a location off school property. Attendance is taken. Then all students return to class and attendance is taken again. This is a wonderful partnership between our schools, public safety departments, and community organizations. Please remember that students cannot be taken from school or returned to school during the drill, as we will be on lockdown. Please schedule appointments, arrivals and departures accordingly with our thanks. Reminder notices will go out to parents. This is a wonderful opportunity to test our communication methods with parents, staff and secondary students. Thank you for working with us.

North-South tailgate, game, band concert
The South and North bands will have a joint performance during the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce Tailgate before the North/South football game. This year, the game is at North High School, 707 Vernier, on Friday, October 12. The tailgate runs 5-7 p.m. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. The tailgate is the start to a community-wide weekend celebration ending with our annual Explore GP Open House from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, October 14. Chamber restaurants and shops will have discounts. Dozens of homes will be open through our partnership with the Grosse Pointe Board of Realtors. Help us spotlight our community and bring families to the area! Invite friends and neighbors who might not regularly enter our school buildings, to join us for student-led tours and Explore GP.
Will you host an Explore GP Open House sign for a week? If so click here to sign up and help us market our district: https://gpschools.formstack.com/forms/explore_gp_open_house
