Macaroni Review: Summer Infant Video Monitors

Don't make the same mistakes I did.

"The Itsy Bitsy Spider climbed up the water spout..."

This song, oh how it haunts me. For nearly 13 months, singing it was the only way to get my son Brooks to sleep. And then, once he was asleep, I knew I'd have to pull out full-on ninja moves to back out of the room quietly, lest I woke the beast and have to start ALL.OVER.AGAIN.

I shudder. And, I digress. Do you know what would have been really super amazing to have during this time? A baby monitor with remote talk-back, allowing me to sing from the comfort of my own bed, without having to nearly break my back trying to exit his room afterward. Uh-huh.

The Summer Infant crew has spent a lot of time on research figuring out how to get the best features into their video monitors, and boy is remote talk back a great feature to have. But the features don't end there. With the Wide View 2.0 Digital Color Monitor, and the Panorama Digital Color Video Monitor, you get remote-talk back plus a slew of other really, really functional features. Like being able to turn the nightlight on and off. Expandable systems that allow you to add cameras for siblings (or the dog, whatever). A 5" LCD screen with automatic black and white night vision, remote zoom, and an 800-foot range. Amazing.

So please, don't be like me. Don't be a nearly forty-year old Mom trying to perform cirque du soleil type moves in the middle of the night. Get a better monitor than I had. Go with Summer Infant, and get the remote talk-back. Trust me on this one.
